Hi, I’m Allison Able.

I believe every body is capable of living a life with more confidence, energy, and strength. I help you build a strong foundation so you can take on life, whether it’s playing with your kids or grandkids, hiking, swimming, or just living life with more energy and fewer aches and pains.

My passion for health and fitness began at the University of Kansas where I received my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and was a member of the women’s rowing team. The many early mornings in the weight room and hours spent on the water, hitting PRs and pushing myself harder than I ever thought possible gave me the confidence that I am capable of achieving whatever I set my mind to.

I went on to Eastern Illinois University to complete my Master in Sports Administration and was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach working with volleyball, tennis, swimming, and football athletes. After graduation, I transitioned into training athletes ranging from middle school to semi-pro. It was during this time I discovered yoga for athletes, and how beneficial yoga is for counterbalancing the strength and strain sports and strength training puts on the body.

In 2017, I decided I need a break from the Kansas winters and moved to Honolulu, HI where I worked as a personal trainer, yoga teacher, boot camp instructor, and CrossFit coach. I loved hiking every weekend, paddle boarding, ocean swimming, and teaching myself how to surf. As much as I loved my time in Hawaii, after 4 years I decided it was time to move back to the mainland and decided San Diego was the closest thing I could get to Hawaii. Two weeks after moving to Carlsbad, Able Bodies was founded and it’s the best decision I’ve made.

I also believe nutrition is a huge part of not only reaching your fitness goals but also vital to living a long healthy life. I recently completed my Master’s in Sports Nutrition through the University of Concordia Chicago to be a better source of nutrition knowledge for my students.

In my free time, you’ll catch me running along the ocean, at CrossFit, testing out workouts on the beach, paddle boarding, hiking, trying out smoothie and granola recipes, or taking my dog on long walks.
